This went on for at least 3-4 weeks. I finally called the customer service number again, and had to tell the person who answered the whole story again. I told him that I was told that "Tito" would call me back. He said Tito was in a meeting and I could either leave voicemail or he could hand-write a message and walk it in to him. I asked him to hand-deliver the message to please call me back.
Great Service
Predictably, I never heard back from anyone again.
So I called their general "customer service" number. The woman I got was actually surprisingly rude and abrupt for someone in "customer service." Told her the whole story. She said that I needed to speak to "Tito" and that she was putting in a message and he would call me the next day.
So I kept calling and finally got in touch with another person and told her the story - she looked it up in their system and found my file, and said that someone else would have to call me back. I never got a call back.
I never heard back from "Tito" or anyone else. I finally went through the dealer who had sold me the trucks. After several weeks, the dealer, working with Isuzu - the manufacturer, not Isuzu Finance of America - finally decided to make it right by sending me a check to cover the amount that Isuzu Finance of American was wrongly withholding from me.
In the last 5 years, I have purchased 4 brand new Isuzu N-series medium-duty trucks. The cheapest one cost $72,000. Three of them were initially financed with Isuzu Finance of America.
After a couple years, I refinanced a couple trucks to lower my monthly payments and even out cash flow. I requested payoff letters, which they sent me. A couple weeks after paying off the loans, my accountant noticed that one of the payoff amounts Isuzu gave us we over $4,000 higher than the amortized principal amount we had on our books. So I called the woman who had emailed me the payoff letters to find out if we could reconcile the difference. She never called me back after I left a couple voicemail messages. I also sent emails to her and Isuzu's general customer service email - never got any reply from anyone.
It's clear to me that Isuzu Finance of America KNEW they had charged me the wrong amount, but didn't give a damn about it. I might very well purchase another Isuzu truck in the future, but I absolutely will not finance it through Isuzu Finance of America. As far as I'm concerned, they knew they owed me a couple thousand dollars and they deliberately stonewalled me.
